Head Women's Soccer Coach
Jordan Andrews is in his second season as the head coach of women's soccer at Finlandia. He just finished up his first season as head coach in fall 2018. He had served as an assistant coach for men’s (2015-17) and women’s (2016-17) soccer for the Lions. In Feb. 2017, he was named Assistant Coach and Director of Player Development for Detroit City FC.
Andrews first season as head coach was very successful. The program was able to break 24 school records on their way to the first ever winning season in program history. Kirsten L’Esperance led the nation in assists, assists per game, and points per game which was a major contributor in the program earning the 4th ranked scoring offense in the nation. Andrews led the team to many accomplishments including: 1 USC All North Region Award Winner, 1 COSIDA Academic All District Award Winner, 7 All-ACAA Conference Award Winners, 3 All-ACAA Academic Award Winners, and 8 ACAA Players of the Week. Finlandia finished the season as the most improved team in Division III (+8.5).
Andrews has helped head coach Brent Chase lead the programs to numerous accomplishments. On the women’s side, it’s been having the individual and team leader in NCAA Division III for saves and having four All- Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) selections.
For the men, the 2015 AD3I championship, an AD3I Offensive Player of the Year (Alex Freeman – 2105), 17 All-AD3I selections and a top 30 scoring offense (2015).
Andrews earned four letters at Chippewa Valley High School (Mich.). He led the Big Reds to a record of 42-16-9. Andrews started all 69 games he played during his career at Bluffton. He was an All-Ohio Academic third team selection, two-time All-HCAC honorable mention selection and an All-HCAC second team pick.
Andrews played club soccer for Pato’s Magic Soccer. The team was coached by Pato Margetic, who played professional with Borussia Dortmund, the Chicago Sting and the Detroit Express. Andrews had an internship with the Columbus Crew (Major League Soccer) where he finished third of 30 interns in total ticket sales. In addition, he worked three years for the Detroit Tigers.
A native of Clinton Township, Mich., Andrews has a B.A. in Business Administration and Sports Management from Bluffton. He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and holds Director of Coaching and National diplomas.
